Testimonials
Kelly’s been one of the strongest managers I’ve had in my career, and she clearly cares deeply about her team and continually growing in her own management practice. I’ve learned a lot from her as a team member, but also as a new manager myself, she’s continued to be a very helpful mentor. I’ve found myself reflecting on her style and her abilities and what I want to carry into my own management style.
Katherine Olvera – Senior UX Design Manager – Wayfair
Kelly is a strong and caring manager, mentor, and leader. While at EverQuote, she supported my growth, taught me new skills, and advocated for design across the organization. She inspired me to challenge myself in my work and tackle problems I found interesting.
Carolina Rago – Lead Product Designer – EverQuote
“In 2022, our organization embarked upon a massive replatforming of our buyer platform. Kelly’s leadership on this project led to data-driven system design backed by user research and frequent feedback. Under Kelly’s leadership, the platform’s user experience was so intuitive, we were able to save weeks in onboarding time for our sales support teams. In addition, our developers were able to build user interfaces at 2x the speed they were previously by utilizing the enterprise design system.”
Kate Ammann – VP of Product – EverQuote
“What truly sets Kelly apart, though, is her leadership. She doesn’t just lead a design team—she really develops a dedicated team built on trust. She inspires those around her with her passion, cultivates a high-performing team culture, and invests deeply in the success of every individual she works with. Kelly has a rare ability to zoom out and think strategically while ensuring every design decision is anchored in user and business outcomes.
She’s exactly the kind of design director you want at the helm of complex, mission-critical tools—especially in fast-paced environments.”

“I continue to be grateful for my time working with Kelly at Wayfair. She brought clarity to my work in a way that made everything feel more intentional and focused. Her background gave me access to guidance I wouldn’t have had otherwise, and I’ve grown so much thanks to my time on her team.
She has also been a constant presence after we worked together. Kelly is someone I can always reach out to for perspective and support. On top of that, she’s just someone I genuinely trust. Working with her raised the bar for what I look for in a leader and collaborator.”
Azam Malik – Senior Product Designer – Wayfair
“Kelly is very knowledgeable about the the principles behind a well designed system that takes the user’s wants and needs into account. Moreover, she has been great at leading her people, caring for them, and helping them grow. Additionally, she has been amazing in working with people from other principles (e.g. Product and Engineering) and collaborating. As an engineer and engineering manager I found it very easy and productive working with her and her design team.”
Apostolis Bessas – Principal Engineer, Manager – EverQuote
“Kelly is one of the most collaborative individuals on the team. I often feel she is the one connecting the dots not only within our XD community but also with internal and external Product, Business, and DevOps teams.”
Heather Barccano – Associate Director of Content – Wayfair
As a data scientist, I can confidently say Kelly is one of the best design partners I’ve worked with. Working with her always provided me with broader context that I would have missed otherwise. For example, recently I was developing the data design for a new project to update our caregiver performance metrics, and I talked to Kelly about it. Not only did she provide me with some confounding operational factors that I was unaware of, she also helped me articulate how the planned project would impact other downstream stakeholders, and how we could use the results from the project to create a better experience for our caregivers, which was our ultimate goal. Her ability to hold both the specifics and the broad context, and easily engage with both even in a domain (data science) that is outside her area of expertise, was tremendously useful to me when we worked together.
Danielle Nelson – Staff Data Scientist – Honor Technology
“Kelly was my manager for nearly a year, and she’s one of the most effective people managers I’ve worked with. What makes her stand out is her combination of deep design experience and business acumen—she has an MBA plus 20+ years across design, product management, and communications, which allows her to understand different functional perspectives and effectively bridge cross-team collaboration.
Kelly excels at both strategic leadership and hands-on contribution. During our time together, she drove significant business impact through projects. What I valued most was her service design approach—she consistently pushed our team to think contextually about how our work connected across the entire user journey. She’s also a thoughtful manager who creates space for team growth and brings fresh perspectives to long-standing challenges.”
